Automate your streaming with the API

Manage galleries, uploads, live streams and events on JMVStream from code. Integrate with your CRM, learning platform or custom app.

Would you rather ask than code? The MCP server for videos uses the same API and gives an AI assistant 13 tools to upload, list, move and delete videos in your hosting.

JMVStream ships a REST API to automate uploads, videos, galleries, live events and playlists. JWT Bearer auth, JSON over HTTPS, base URL api.jmvstream.com (/v1 and /v2 routes). Public reference with request/response examples lives at jmvstream.com/en/developer/.

Capabilities

What you automate with the API

Everything you'd do by hand in the dashboard — now programmatic, at scale.

Programmatic upload

Send files up to 5 TB through multipart upload with presigned URLs: the file goes straight to storage and never passes through the API. Small files can go in a single direct upload.

Galleries and organization

Create, rename and delete galleries and sub-galleries, and move videos between them.

Live streaming

Create live events, start and end the live, and build the channel playlist. With /v2/streams, relay a source (source_url) to a target (target_url).

Storage and status

Check the storage used by your plan (disk usage) and each video's transcoding status, so you know when it is ready to play.

Use cases

Where the JMVStream API fits

Course platforms

Your platform uploads lessons through the API and keeps each course in its own gallery. Students watch in the JMVStream player.

Apps and SaaS

Your app sends the video, checks the transcoding status and shows it in the JMVStream player once it is ready.

CRM and ERP

Sync your video catalog and plan storage usage with your in-house system through REST calls.

Migration and routines

Migration scripts and scheduled jobs: upload files in batches, move videos between galleries and delete what is no longer live.

Technical stack

Industry standards, no reinvented wheels. Works with any HTTP client.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the full API documentation?

At https://jmvstream.com/en/developer/, with routes, body and sample responses. The base URL is https://api.jmvstream.com: /v2 for authentication, uploads and streams; /v1 for videos, galleries, events, playlists and storage used (disk usage).

How do I authenticate with the API?

Call POST /v2/authenticate with your plan UUID in the body. The response returns a JWT valid for 4 hours; send it as Authorization: Bearer <token>. An expired token returns 401. There is one UUID per plan: if it is regenerated, the previous one stops working.

What is the maximum upload size through the API?

Up to 5 TB per file, through multipart upload with presigned URLs: the file goes straight to storage without passing through the API. For files up to 100 MB, the documentation recommends the direct upload (s3-direct).

How do I know when a video is ready?

Check the transcoding status through the API, in the /v1 video routes. The API does not push notifications: your system polls the status.

Is there an official SDK?

There is no official SDK. It's REST with JSON: any HTTP client works (curl, fetch, requests).

Can I try the API before subscribing?

Yes. The 30-day free hosting trial is currently released for companies with a CNPJ (Brazilian company ID), with the same API as the paid plans: message us on WhatsApp and we'll activate it.
