2–5 second latency · LL-HLS · Brazil-first

2–5 second latency for live auctions, live sports, and interactive streams.

Low-latency streaming over LL-HLS for moments where every second matters: livestock auctions, live sports, interactive events, and Live Commerce with chat and polls in near-real-time.

When the standard 10–30 second delay (YouTube/Facebook live) isn't tight enough — you need a 2–5 second response window so an auctioneer can close the bid, viewers can react to a poll, or the scoreboard stays in sync. Powered by dedicated LL-HLS, with a CDN in Brazil with WhatsApp support in Portuguese and English. Available as an add-on with Live Streaming Premium or standalone — talk to sales for USD pricing.

What low latency means and when you actually need it

There are 3 technical latency tiers in streaming. Knowing which one your use case requires keeps you from buying the wrong product.

TierLatencyTechWhere it fits
Standard10–30 secondsClassic HLS, RTMPYouTube Live, Facebook Live, regular broadcast
Low latency(JMV operates here)2–5 secondsLL-HLS, LL-CMAFAuctions, live sports, interactive streams, Live Commerce with chat
Sub-second<1 secondWebRTC, custom SRTVideo conferencing, competitive gaming, in-play betting

Straight talk:

JMVStream delivers low latency (2–5s) over LL-HLS — the right tier for minute-by-minute auctions, live sports, interactive shows, and Live Commerce.

Sub-second (<1s) is a video-conferencing tier — a different product class powered by WebRTC. We don't operate in that space because it isn't broadcast media streaming — it's peer-to-peer communication with a different pricing model (per minute / per participant) and an entirely different architecture. For Zoom-style use, competitive gaming, and in-play betting, dedicated video-conferencing solutions are the right call.

Use cases that genuinely need 2–5 second latency

Six scenarios that benefit most from LL-HLS — it scales to large audiences, costs less than sub-second, and preserves the temporal integrity these moments need.

Livestock auctions

A multi-billion-dollar market in Brazil — cattle, dairy, equine. Minute-by-minute bidding requires low latency for the auction to close cleanly.

Real-estate and asset auctions

Online auctions for real estate and assets. Bidders need to see live bids without significant delay to place a counter-bid.

Regional live sports

Amateur soccer, combat sports, e-sports. Low latency keeps the scoreboard in sync and lets commentary land in near-real-time.

Time-sensitive Live Commerce

Flash sales of limited inventory. Viewers need to see "3 left in stock" and click before it sells out.

Interactive worship and ministries

Live prayer requests, real-time donations, open chat. Lower delay means deeper connection with the remote congregation.

Launches and interactive Q&A

Online events with chat and polls. Viewers ask a question and get an answer without the audio drifting out of sync.

If your use case requires sub-second latency, that's a different product class (video conferencing) — not something we cover. For the six scenarios above, LL-HLS low latency is the right tech.

How it works — in 4 steps

LL-HLS over a dedicated CDN in Brazil. Fast setup, no engineering lift required.

1

Pick a standalone plan (Start at 200 or Full at 500 concurrent viewers) — or activate the add-on on Live Streaming Premium if you're already a customer.

2

Dedicated CDN in Brazil

Once your stream goes live, our dedicated CDN in Brazil delivers it via LL-HLS (Low-Latency HLS) — a protocol that drops delay to 2–5s while scaling to hundreds of concurrent viewers. NVIDIA-powered transcoding handles video quality.

3

Adaptive transcoder

Video is encoded at multiple bitrates (up to 4 Mbps Full HD) and delivered automatically at the quality each viewer's connection can handle.

4

Monetization and analytics

Built-in ads, chat, polls, and lead capture. Server-side, real-time analytics with audience breakdowns by device, region, and source.

Included on every plan

Same tech, same feature set across Start, Full, and Custom. The only difference is concurrent-viewer capacity.

Branded JMV Player

Your brand, colors, and logo on the player — no shared platform branding.

Automatic recording

Every broadcast is recorded automatically for replay and archive.

Lead capture

Collect viewer email and phone during the stream.

Scheduling

Schedule broadcasts in advance and notify your audience.

Live chat

Player-integrated chat with moderation. Viewers interact in near-real-time (2–5s).

Mini player

Picture-in-picture mini player so viewers keep watching while they browse the rest of your site.

Where it's already included

Low latency up to 100 concurrent viewers is bundled with Live Streaming Premium. For larger audiences (200, 500, unlimited), pick the standalone plan below.

When JMV Low-Latency is the right call

  • Your use case fits 2–5 seconds of delay (not sub-second)
  • You want fixed BRL pricing, no FX exposure
  • You want Portuguese-speaking support when something breaks
  • You serve a Brazilian audience and want servers in Brazil

When a dedicated WebRTC vendor is a better fit

  • ·You need <1 second latency (in-play betting, gaming, video conferencing)
  • ·You're fine paying in USD with English-only support
  • ·You have engineering bandwidth to integrate a WebRTC API

Frequently asked questions

Seven questions that come up most about LL-HLS low latency.

+What's the difference between low latency and sub-second?

Low latency (2–5s) runs on LL-HLS — a scalable media-streaming protocol that handles large audiences with small delay (hundreds of concurrent viewers without breaking a sweat). Sub-second (<1s) runs on WebRTC — peer-to-peer communication built for video conferencing and two-way real-time (Zoom-style, gaming, in-play betting). They're entirely different products — JMV does broadcast streaming with low latency (2–5s), not video conferencing.

+Can I use this for in-play betting?

No. In-play betting requires sub-second latency. A 2–5s window can create disputes (the bettor placing a bet "after" the action). That's a different product class (video conferencing / two-way real-time), outside our scope.

+Can I use this for a livestock auction?

Yes — it's an ideal use case. 2–5s is enough time for the gavel to drop and a counter-bid to remain valid. Brazilian livestock-auction platforms operate at this latency tier.

+Isn't low latency already included in the Live Streaming Premium plan?

Yes, but capped at 100 concurrent viewers. If you need low latency for larger audiences (200, 500, unlimited), the standalone plans on this page are the right path — dedicated infrastructure that scales without losing the 2–5s window.

+Is there a free trial?

Yes — talk to our team and we'll set up a trial period so you can validate the latency on your specific use case.

+What technology powers it?

LL-HLS (Low-Latency HLS) over a dedicated CDN in Brazil. Secure SSL/SRT ingest. NVIDIA-powered video processing.

+Do you accept Pix, bank slip, and recurring credit card?

Yes, all three. Monthly with no lock-in or annual with a 28% discount.

Premium support on WhatsApp (PT/EN)

When something breaks during a low-latency broadcast (a live auction, a sports event with the crowd watching), response time matters. Our support is human, in Portuguese or English, on WhatsApp.

No phone trees, no endless ticket queues, no "thanks for reaching out" before disappearing. Whoever responds has access to your dashboard.
